Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how WisdomOcean, the web app at https://wisdomocean.pages.dev ("the App"), owned by Shaik Ismail ("I", "me"), handles your information. In short: your quotes stay with you. The App has no servers or databases of its own that store your content, I cannot see your quotes, and I do not sell or share your data.

1. What the App stores, and where

On your device: the quotes, images, notes, categories and favorites you add, and your display settings (text size, theme, colours), are saved in your web browser's own storage on your device.
In your Google Drive (only if you sign in with Google): a copy of your collection is saved in a folder called "WisdomOcean" in your own Google Drive, so it can appear on all your devices. It is stored by Google under your Google account, not by me.

2. Information from your Google account

If you choose to sign in with Google, the App asks Google for permission to:

Create and use its own files in your Google Drive (the Google permission drive.file). The App can only see and change the files it created itself, in the WisdomOcean folder. It cannot see, read or change any other files in your Drive.
Read your name, email address and profile picture link, which Google provides with that permission. The App uses these only to show which account is connected. They are kept on your device and are not sent to me or to anyone else.

The App receives a short-lived access key from Google to talk to Google Drive on your behalf. It is kept only on your device and expires after about an hour.

3. Google API Services User Data Policy

WisdomOcean's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information from Google is used only to provide the App's features to you. It is not used for advertising, not sold, not transferred to others, and not used to train any AI or machine-learning models.

4. What the App does not do

No advertising and no advertising trackers.
No analytics or tracking of what you read or add.
No selling, renting or sharing of your information.
I do not receive your quotes, images, notes or Google account details.

5. Hosting

The App's files are delivered by Cloudflare Pages. Like any website host, Cloudflare may automatically process technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the pages securely. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. Google sign-in is provided by Google under Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Your choices and how to delete your data

Delete items: delete any quote, image or category in the App. If you are signed in, the deletion also reaches your Google Drive and your other devices.
Stop syncing: use "Sign out of Google" in the App.
Remove the App's access to Google: visit myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove WisdomOcean.
Delete the Drive copy: delete the "WisdomOcean" folder in your Google Drive (and empty Drive's trash).
Delete the copy on a device: clear this website's data in your browser settings, or remove the Home Screen app.

7. Children

The App is intended for people aged 18 or over, or used with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Your rights

Because your data stays on your device and in your own Google Drive, you have direct control over it at all times. Depending on where you live, including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may have rights to access, correct and erase your personal data and to raise a grievance. Contact me using the details below for any such request.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If the App ever starts handling your data differently (for example, a future feature for sharing quotes with friends), this policy will be updated before that happens, and such sharing will be your choice.
